  The water polymer is an ecological product which delivers water to plants through microbes using the age old “thimbleful” concept; it is a non hazardous chemical product. It combines microbial activity with chemical technology. It utilizes molecular science and microbial interaction to control water release directly to plant roots as needed. It is a stagnant and non-volatile solid substance produced through solidifying water, causing fundamental changes in the physical properties of water. Once it contacts dry soil around the plants roots or drip zone, it slowly releases moisture through the common microbe in water polymer and all soil types.
  
  Most of water polymer/ crystals/ water retaining agents in the market place are high bibulous resins. Currently there are two major types of water retaining agents, acrylamide-acrylate cross-linking copolymer and starch-acrylate graft cross-linking co-polymer. Water retaining agents hold no water themselves. It absorbs water from outside and releases it to plants. In contrast, the one that I have as of sample is consist of 98% water and 2% cellulose. It releases water at a slow rate through microbial interaction in soil and provides moisture for plants. It does not evaporate in dry environments or flow or leak in sand. It reaches the roots of plants and releases moisture at a low rate, providing a slow but steady supply of moisture.

  BACKGROUND
  
  This organization wants to replace conductive casings, conductors, wires, grounding plates, and similar electronics structures with other materials that have similar conductive properties but that are much lighter than the copper and aluminum they are currently using. Such materials might be carbon, polymer, or some other material. These are large structures, and the weight savings could be substantial.
  
  The conductivity of a copper housing is about 1x10-6 Ohms/cm. An aluminum housing offers about 2x10-6 Ohms/cm. The best carbon solution offers about 10-4 to 10-5, but does not provide the required flexibility of manufacture. To replace power wiring, the conductivity of aluminum is the goal at a significant weight savings. A carbon-loaded polymer that approached 10-3 ohm/cm would be of interest for some high frequency shielding applications.
  
  Carbon's resistance does not increase dramatically above 10MHz (where metals do because of the skin effect); potential applications for these materials as conductors range especially between DC 800 Hz, and 10 - 25MHz and will depend on their conductivity at various temperatures and frequencies.

  The effect has been noted at various conditions. The temperature of the water can be anywhere from 5'C to 95'C. The ration of textile to water is from 1:10 to 1:3. The pH of the water can be from 6 to 11. This is not to say these are limits as more extreme conditions may also exhibit the effect. PQs are known to provide benefits such as nice 'feel' at low cost in many personal care products however when the personal care product is directly applied to fibers and fabrics, they can cause staining. If any colors come into contact with the PQs in an aqueous environment, the PQs will effectively 'suck in' the color bodies. The color bodies can be from grass stains, inorganic particulate soils (clay) or even fugitive dyes from other fabrics. The adhering is most acute with cotton fibers, but solutions that prevent adhering on any fibers are of interest.
  The current blocking approach uses sulfonated styrene malaic anhydride (SSMA) in high concentration to inhibit color bodies from contacting and adhering to the PQ.
  
  Background
  We believe that the cationic substituents are a cause of the problem. Nonionic based detergents are most affected by this phenomenon while detergents with high anionic surfactant levels exhibit similar behavior, but to a much lesser degree; Note, however, that [PQ7], which is common in many hand soaps appears to be unaffected by surfactant type.. Neutralizing the polyquat positive charges seems to help in inhibiting the reaction.
  
  Possible Solutions:
  
  - Remove the poly quats from the fibers
  - Provide a cheaper alternative to SSMA to neutralize or block color bodies from contacting/adhering. This could be accomplished either by targeting the PQs directly, or by generically infusing the whole aqueous environment with the blocker/inhibitor (as is currently done)
  - Reduce the amount of SSMA required to effectively block the adhering (current concentrations for efficacy in a nonionic surfactant based detergent are 60 ppm to the aqueous system )
  - Target the stain directly (have to get there before the color gets there) OR generic solution (much higher concentrations required).
  
  Constraints:
  
  - Needs to be human-safe (GRAS)
  - Preferably biodegradable
  - Definitely needs to meet Design for the Environment (EPA) criteria
  
  Desired Outcome
  Cheaper, more sustainable method for preventing colors from adhering to PQs during washing of the underlying fibers/fabrics.
  
  Previously Attempted Solutions
  Using poly sulfonated styrene malaic anhydride (SSMA) – inhibits the color bodies from contacting and adhering to the PQ.
  Attemped to use polycarboxylates, acrylates and co-polymers. Solvents - mineral spirits, polar, non-polar, even chlorinated. None of these approaches worked.

  Our polymer applications often require high temperature resistance and high materials performance. Often, our polymers must perform at 150 degrees C, or even up to 280 C as in the case of polyethylenes.
  
  We are particularly interested in grafting an aliphatic alpha-olefin to a thermoplastic polyester elastomer. The terminal double bond functional group must be retained in the final polymer.
  
  CONSTRAINTS
  
  A dendromeric olefin would prohibit other processing we need to perform on the material.
  
  General high-temperature stability.
  
  Prefer no other functional group within six carbons of the olefin, but this is not a requirement.
  
  Prefer solutions that can generalize across polymers, but this also is not a requirement.

  These products will be used in the area of connectors, housings, wire, cable and tubing.
  
  Desired Outcome
  Although we may wish to manufacture small batches, ideally, we'd be able to purchase the olefin-grafted polymer from a secondary company that makes the material for us.
  
  The olefin containing polymer will be compounded into a formulation that will be made into components such as connectors, housings and other moldable parts. This technology will allow for the formation of a more durable polymer in a secondary processing step, e.g. higher use temperature, abrasion resistance, increased stiffness.

  We have an urgent requirement for a ceramic slurry coating / impregnation technology, used to produce ceramic filtration media from a reticulated polymer foam substrate.
  
  Currently reticulated polymer foam filters, with ppi (pores per linear inch) ranging from 20 - 6 ppi, are coated with a ceramic slurry by first impregnating via submerged rollers, then spraying a more diluted version of the same slurry composition. When considering a coarse foam a strand thickness of 1-3mm is deposited during the impregnation process, and less than 1mm is added during the spray process. The spray process is a continuous one and the drying is done in batches. The process of spray, air knife and dry, is performed twice on each side of the filter (4-spray process). 30-50% of the total filter weight is added by spraying. The spray slurry viscosity is around 2.7 – 3.1 PaS and the solids content is approx. 60-70% (depending on the end product) The filters are then dried and fired prior to use. The application methods currently used result in a product where the coating is not sufficiently even and homogeneous throughout the filter, leading to possible inconsistent performance. Specifically, the spraying process can result in:-
  
  - Inconsistent weight deposition
  - Inconsistent layer thickness
  - Inconsistent spray patterns
  - Operator induced variabilities
  - Cost and time constraints due to multiple dryings
  
  The ceramic coating compositions currently used are considered satisfactory to meet the very rigorous and demanding conditions the filters have to endure. We are therefore seeking novel technology to increase the consistency / precision of the applied ceramic coating and the overall performance of the filter. Improvements should offer one or more of the following desired objectives:-
  
  - Reduced pore blockages
  - Increased uniformity of strand coating
  - Increased filter strength
  - Reduced weight
  
  Solutions could involve:-
  
  - New coating techniques
  - New impregnation techniques
  - New materials technology
  - New processing equipment / parameters

  Any additive changes the balance of properties for a given plastic. Talc, wollastonite, and glass fibers are the most usual conventional additives. Typically, talc can comprise 10-30% of a polypropylene by weight. While talc produces a stiffer plastic, the resulting composite is relatively dense. Glass fiber can typically provide the same stiffness as talc at lower use levels. While this provides a less dense composite, it presents other challenges -- such as undesirable surface defects.
  
  Our client's focus is on finding new ingredients, modifiers, or agents that improve the balance of properties of a thermoplastic (in particular, a polyolefin) over what is currently used today. The list of properties of interest includes:
  
  o Lighter weight
  o Higher modulus
  o Increase tensile strength
  o Improve impact resistance
  o Improve heat resistance
  o Decrease density (while maintaining the same or greater strength)
  o Minimize shrinkage
  o Improve surface finish, feel, optical appearance, and similar aesthetics
  o Improve scratch resistance and surface hardness
  o Improve stiffness
  o Minimize or eliminate abrasiveness (causes problems during extrusion)
  
  Ideally, your proposed additive would provide new properties in plastics or improvements over anything currently available; or, your additive would maintain current-equivalent properties but at a greatly reduced weight or much lower cost. For example, we would be interested in a technology that would enable a lower-cost polymer resin to replace a higher-cost resin without sacrificing quality, or a resin that would provide equivalent performance to a high-cost resin, but at a lesser quantity.
  
  Early-stage technologies are acceptable, but it is preferred that you have reduced the technology to practice at least at the lab scale.
  
  CONSTRAINTS
  
  Safety is important to us. Any new ingredient should not create safety hazards when inhaled during mixing or cause harm during incineration or processing.
  
  Your additive must work with an extruder (or possibly a compounder). An additive that is too abrasive -- over 6.5 on the Mohs hardness scale -- may be harder than the steel in an extruder. We may make an exception for a true nano-scale additive.
  
  No restriction between organic or inorganic additives.
  
  We are NOT currently interested in new polymers (unless the polymer is added to polyolefins), new processes, or new machines.
  
  POSSIBLE SOLUTION AREAS
  
  Materials science in organics and inorganics.

  Potential solutions from varied industry sectors that can be adapted are also acceptable as are expert partners for collaborative work to design and synthesize custom solutions that meet the criteria as defined below:
  
  A protective system, whether a film, coating, adhesive, gel structure or any other format needs to be identified to protect a chemical active. This protective system would have to withstand alkalinity, upto a pH as high as 11. It would have to remain intact till the pH reduces to neutral/weakly acidic pH.
  Around neutral pH (~6 to 8), the protective system would have to disrupt/break down/open up/dissolve to facilitate delivery of the active species. This disruption/dissolution could be instant or gradual as the pH begins to drop to 7.
  
  The barrier needs to withstand:
  
  1. High pH (~ 10.5) for at least 20-40 minutes.
  2. It needs to break down/open/dissolve within 5 minutes of the pH dropping to below 8.
  3. It should not be triggered by changes in ionic strength at constant pH.
  
  Mandatory- The barrier must break down at a pH of approximately 7 and be intact at a pH of 8 or above.
  
  Desirable- Ideally, the barrier will break down between pH 6 and 8 and be stable above and below these.
  
  The solution should provide: -
  
   Detailed technical data and specifications,
   Indicative costs if known.
   Indications of any formulation issues
   Availability of sufficient quantities of samples for experimental work.
  
  Additional Information:
  
  1. Not be harmful for human use.
  2. Safety and toxicological data on residual limits if ingested
  3. Ideally offer scope for patent protection with the desired application and format if custom chemistry solution

  The sheet/film/fabrics may be made from new materials or use existing known materials formed via a novel cost effective process. Processes that convert optical/barrier/textural properties of already formed sheets/films/fabrics are also of high interest.
  
  High optical clarity and low haze in thin films/sheets is a property desired in a number of applications. These range from food packaging where freshness and quality of the food can better perceived to wound dressings which allow better visualization of the wound to follow the healing process.
  
  There are materials which provide the required optical clarity and other required barrier properties, but the sheet or fabric making process can in itself make the overall cost too high. An example being woven PET (Polyethylene Terapthalate), where the required optical clarity is good, but the woven process is slow and expensive. In this Tech Need we seek cost effective mesh like sheets/films/fabrics with high optical clarity and low haze equivalent to woven PET but at lower cost.
  
  The resulting sheet/film/fabric will be evaluated based on
  
  - Optical clarity and low haze. Visual inspection and high light transmission levels (e.g. >60%) being an indication of this.
  - Cost effectiveness of production (material and process)
  - Ability to be processed in current machines.

  We'd like to consider new additives, modifiers, or agents -- ingredients that are not commonly added to thermoplastic -- in a search to improve material properties and make plastics stiffer, lighter, and give them higher heat resistance. We're especially open to materials in use in non-plastic industries: concrete and aggregates, ceramics and porcelains, glass, gels, nanotechnology, and similar industries that may put organic or inorganic additives in their mix.
  We realize that materials not commonly used in thermoplastics will be unlikely to have thermoplastic-oriented performance data to show us.
  
  CONSTRAINTS
  Your solution should be a high-strength inorganic or organic compound having the following characteristics:
  - Tensile modulus > 50GPa
  - Aspect ratio > 20:1 (can be plates or fibers. An aspect ratio implies a fibrous material; your solution need not be fibrous.)
  - Structure survives up to 300 degrees C.
  - Mohs hardness < 6.5 (extruders suffer wear at higher Mohs numbers)
  - No health or safety issues
  - Existing performance data in a thermoplastic is not a requirement

  Current adhesives used in the field often require a compromise between being soft and gentle for easy non-damaging removal and being strong enough to ensure confident adhesion with good sealing to prevent leakage at the interface between the substrate and the adhesive.
  
  The challenge with many gentle non-toxic adhesives is that they do not handle moisture very well and can lose adhesion, causing leakage and damage to the weak substrate surface. The alternative strong adhesives are less flexible and are not easily removed without damaging the weak surface of the substrate. Moisture absorbing adhesives can be eroded easily and lose adhesion on moisture uptake.
  
  Balancing the compromise of adhesion versus ease of removal and then the moisture management versus erosion resistance is a constant challenge that we are seeking to resolve.
  
  Weak and sometimes damaged surfaces often consist of multiple layers with a top layer that is easily removable. It is affected by numerous internal and external factors that can change its surface structure. Factors such as pH, moisture environment and interface interactions all need to be considered when developing a suitable adhesive solution. The adhesive solution must be strong enough (peelforce is typically 0,1-10 N/25mm) to adhere but gentle enough not to cause further damage to the surface.
  
  Constraints:
  
  o Non-toxic, non-irritating and non-sensitizing to human organisms
  o Proven and demonstrated adhesive properties on a laboratory scale - test and experimental data on different elements of the adhesive are required
  o Ideally the formulation leaves no residues on removal

  Conductive carbon technologies often are 'blue sky' technologies. They are laboratory-scale or even pilot-scale technologies that may not scale well and may be too expensive to use if they do. More specifically, carbon nanotubes offer exciting conductivity at the single nanotube scale. But many current nanotubes technologies lose conductance when scaled or polymerized in any significant bulk.
  We're actively looking for carbon nanotube solutions that offer
  - Conductivity approaching that of copper in polymer, bulk or similar scaled form
  - Lighter weight than existing metal-based materials.
  Of interest, but not a requirement, are technologies that are closer to volume commercialization and less expensive than many current carbon nanotubes technologies.

  Plastic additives always demand a balance between performance and change to physical characteristics. This organization has been working with 10% talc-filled polypropylene (by weight). Talc produces a stiffer plastic and increases heat resistance, but increases plastic density to an unacceptable level for the application.
  Ideally, you have a new additive or a new approach to creating the required improvements to the polypropylene. Your solution may require the removal of some or all of the talc and replace it with another substance in order to achieve the improvements.
  Whatever your proposed solution, it should not adversely impact other properties of the polypropylene.
  Also of interest would be maintaining current stiffness, heat resistance, or density at a reduced cost or quantity.
  
  CONSTRAINTS
  - 30% increase in flexural modulus.

  The use of Teflon surfaces is common in the product agro-food manufacturing. The most relevant characteristics offer: high impact absortion capacity, high temperature resistance (200C), good slip properties and prevents food adhesion above all for those which its texture and consistency is sticky. Teflon’s substitution for other metallic materials (mainly stainless steel) has not worked since the food sticks easily provoking incidents in the production line.
  
  In the other hand, due to friction between the plastic surfaces and the mechanical parts of the line, plastic particles are formed which if incorporated in the food generate a risk for the consumer.
  
  When the surface is of metallic origin (Iron, stainless steel), the post of a metallic detector at the end of the line prevents that the contaminated product reaches the consumer. Nevertheless, when the generated particle is of plastic origin the current systems (metallic detectors, X.Ray) do not work.
  
  The objective of the challenge is to find suitable technological solutions that would let to identify plastic fragments (Teflon or similar) that accidentally have been incorporated in the food. The solution may be thought in different levels: some of the possibilities are:
  
  1- To incorporate metallic charge to the plastic polymer (Teflon or similar), so in case of incorporation in the food it will be detected by a conventional metallic detector.
  
  2- Alternative technology that could detect plastic materials in the food product
  
  Tests performed with X-ray technology have not worked, this option is not accepted
  
  Success criteria of winning proposals are:

  Even better, if your solution offers a sturdy, robust combination of ingredients that allows us to apply the formulation to a number of product lines and different product directions -- by including perfumes, preservatives, and oils, for example. The solution should have a stable viscosity profile and be amenable to easy viscosity modification. Ideally, the solution will be capable of suspending particles.
  
  As important to us as the foam improvement is the cost reduction. Your solution should offer a cost reduction of 25% below our current final formula costs.

  Any cosmetic that covers a wide area of skin depends on the optics of the skin area beneath it. Cosmetics even the skin tone by using colors complementary to the prevailing skin hue. For example, if the skin under the eyes is a purplish hue, a yellow base reduces its appearance. If the skin hue is bluish, then orange reduces its appearance. Skin reflects a given amount of light depending on its nature; changing the shape of the pigment particles can emulate the skin's natural light-scattering abilities for a blending effect.
  
  Unfortunately, the best materials for covering the skin are the least natural-appearing. Those that look most natural do the worst job of covering and concealing. For example, pigment-grade titanium dioxide covers perfectly, but looks opaque and chalky on the skin. Other materials, such as aluminas and silicas, blur light but don't do a good job of covering dark areas on the skin.
  
  Pigments each have their different morphologies, different aspect ratios, and therefore different reflectance. We're looking for pigment particles that can achieve the proper light-reflecting coverage without losing its naturalness of appearance.
  
  Your solution needs to contend with the surrounding skin, so that the skin tone blends across lighter and darker areas, and makes the skin one continuous tone regardless of the variation underneath. It may be an ingredient that diffuses its concealment along a color gradient.
  
  Your solution also needs to work instantly and upon application.

  BACKGROUND
  Ambient conditions seen by the component inside a high pressure reactor are a gas temperature of 1500°C, gas pressure of 50–60 atmospheres, heat fluxes of 1–3 MW/m2 though the component and a CO/Hydrogen gas. Analyses of the damaged and failed equipment indicate that surface temperatures on the specially cooled component must have reached 600°C – 700°C and that temperature must be cycling to have produced the thermal fatigue cracks observed. The component is internally cooled by high pressure cooling water operating at a temperature of 180 degrees C. We need to document and monitor surface conditions of the component inside a running reactor.
  
  The component is roughly cylindrical with one end placed into the high pressure, high temperature conditions. The cylinder is round on one end with a diameter of 0.4 meter, total length of about 3.5 meters and weight of 2,000 kg. All surfaces are of convex curvature. Only the end of the cylinder exposed to the reactor – about 0.1-0-.2 meter x 0.4 meter diameter – must be monitored. Measurements of areas of a square centimeter would be adequate, while smaller areas of 5mm x 5mm would be great. A total of 10 locations will be adequate over the surface of the component. Surface properties to be measured in priority order are 1) strain, 2) heat flux, and 3) temperature.
  
  The component wall thicknesses are 2-4 mm and are made of Inconel (nickel-chromium-iron) and stainless steel (iron-chromium-nickel) alloys. The components contain high pressure cooling water at a temperature of 180 degrees C.
  
  When operating, the reactor pressure vessel is sealed and also contains the component. Any measurement information from the sensor must be conveyable out through the pressure vessel, by electrical signals via insulated wires or via optical fibers or other means.
  
  Perhaps use of X-ray diffraction to measure the lattice strain of the alloy at the surface could be accomplished, which is a known method to measure materials strain for research.
  
  CONSTRAINTS
  • Seek a ready-to-use, mature, and demonstrated measuring/sensing technology. We do not have time to enter a development cycle.
  • Able to withstand the extreme conditions inside a sealed, high pressure gaseous reactor, and report in real time through a pressure vessel.
  • Maximum thickness of sensor should be a 3 mm. The presence of the sensor should not greatly affect the measurement of strain, heat flux, or temperature.
  • Need concept to adhere/glue/weld/stick the sensor to the smooth component surface or
  a concept or method to monitor the surface by “looking” at the surface with some sort of light or radiation
  • Frequency of sensor response should be at least +/- 2 seconds.
  • 1st choice - component surface engineering strains to be measured are 0.05% +/- 0.02%
  • 2nd choice - heat fluxes to be measured are 1-3 MW/square meter +/- 0.2 MW/square meter
  • 3rd choice - component surface temperatures to be measured are in the range of 400-800 degrees C to a tolerance of +/- 20 degrees C.
  • Sensor life during operation of the reactor should be at least one month and preferably one year.
  
  POSSIBLE SOLUTION AREAS
  Industries of interest might be aerospace propulsion (engines), space craft propulsion (engines and atmosphere reentry protection systems),, fossil fired combustion facilities, petrochemical plants, chemicals plants, heating, ceramics manufacturing, steel/iron making, heat treatment, insulation, thermal radiation management, pulp and paper processing facilities, nuclear power plants, incinerator facilities, studies/equipment by power generation facilities and similar organizations.
  
  Field Of Use and Intended Application
  Monitor surface conditions of components used in high pressure and high temperature chemical reactors. The components under consideration are devices which inject reactants and materials into high pressure and high temperature reactors.
  
  Desired Outcome
  Real-time instrumentation to determine the exposure/service mechanical surface conditions of a component which is vital to the function of a chemical process. The information would be used to diagnose equipment failure mechanisms, to validate adequate lifetimes of new equipment and to measure conditions, which could then be reproduced in equipment prototype testing rigs to evaluate alternate equipment designs and materials before substitution into commercial plants. The effort aims to increase component lifetimes, which will reduce maintenance costs and also improve plant productivity.
  
  Previously Attempted Solutions
  Welded thermocouples have been placed in various locations, but they compromised the integrity of the component being measured, have limited lifetimes and are fragile in operation and during installation.
  
  Optical pyrometers were used to look at the surface to measure temperatures, but particles in the gas interfered with the measurements.
  
  Strain gauges were not successfully placed on the face of the component being tested. We could not understand how to attach the gauges to the surface and also get the signal out of the pressure vessel.
  
  We also use mathematical modeling to determine the heat fluxes, surface temperatures, and surface strains of interest. But we need real measurement to confirm or to adjust or validate these predictions.

  Background:
  The production of aluminium cans is capital intensive and involves numerous process steps, many of which require water and / or water-based lubricants, as a cooling agent, and in particular to wash away fines, lubricant residues, etc prior to protecting, coating, filling and sealing. Typically, 15 - 65 gallons of water are required per 1000 cans (differs between individual plants). Our client is looking to drastically reduce this usage by adopting new forming techniques, novel ‘washless’ or waterless lubrication and / or cooling materials or mechanisms, and closed loop systems whereby the water that is used can be cleaned for re-use in the plant.
  
  Problems:
  - The drawing and wall ironing process generates a great deal of heat / friction (aluminium is reduced from gauge of ~0.25mm to ~100microns), hence the need for cutting oil / lubricants and coolants.
  - The cans must be scrupulously clean prior to coating on both sides (to prevent corrosion and allow printing), hence a 4-stage washing process. This includes the use of etching chemicals such as HF.
  - If employing a closed loop system the resulting waste sludge is classified as hazardous due to the aluminium particulates / fines (up to 30 microns) and various chemicals involved in the production process. This is expensive to remove.
  - The manufacturing process uses a number of solvents and other hazardous chemicals which not only contaminate the waste stream but give off toxic emissions meaning the sites on which plants can be placed are restricted.
  
  Solutions:
  Potentially any technology that allows the production of cans without water, or with as little water as possible, will be considered, including:-
  - Alternative forming techniques, e.g. without lubrication / coolant
  - Improved die technology, e.g. coatings for dies / tooling to operate at lower temperatures
  - Alternative cooling systems / mechanisms, e.g. cooling surface of the dies
  - Novel lubrication systems, such as a combined lubricant and coating, which doesn’t need to be washed off, or is water soluble, or can be removed without water (solutions could include pre-coated aluminium and polymer laminates, etc)
  - Waterless or ‘washless’ cleaning systems
  - New coatings / lacquers with ‘cleaner’ chemical content and avoiding use of VOCs
  - Alternative ‘greener’ mechanisms for etching fines from surface of the can (HF is currently used)
  - Water treatment systems that reduce or remove the usage of chemical agents, as well as the aluminium residues, to render the waste non-hazardous and thus potentially recyclable.
  
  Our client does NOT currently use silicon in their production process due to difficulties with contamination – therefore, we prefer not to use a silicone based solution unless it can be shown to not be detrimental to other processes, or could be removed completely from the can / equipment.
  
  The client is an established manufacturer, well used to developing best practice for their production plants. There is an ongoing economic and environmental requirement to reduce the water usage of their plants, and therefore minimise the impact to the local area. Considerable work has already been done to reduce consumption, but the client is looking for step-change technology to create a plant of the future. They are keen to simplify the production process, remove hazardous chemicals and generally create a ‘clean’ process that minimises use of local resources.
