Organización Ofertante : Polydesta / Reino Unido
Tipo de Organización : Spin off, Start up
Estado Actual de Desarrollo : Disponible en el mercado
Sector Industrial : Productos a granel y materiales, Química
Etiquetas : oolymer design, Polymer processing, Plastics processing, Polymer blends, Polymer additives, Plastic
Descripción de la oferta tecnológica
In spite of the increased sophistication of polymeric materials, now designed with many molecular parameters in mind, the choice of resin is still more an art than a science. Requirements often specify the “melt flow index” (MFI). In practice, however, the processing behaviour of polymers can be more complex than that explained by the MFI. The missing information is the set of rules that connect the molecular structure of a polymer to its process performance in a predictive way, expressed in terms that Polymer producers and SME converters can handle. This leads to huge wastage in down-time, poor supply-chain and consequent lack of competitiveness. There is therefore a huge opportunity to supply this sector with latest tools based on new research.
Polydesta is a spin-off from a world leading multi University-Industry R&D consortium 'Microscale Polymer Processing Programme' (µPP). The aim was to develop an understanding of how molecular parameters affect the processing of industrial polymers.

These new catalysts (mixed oxides of cerium-praseodymium) have a low cost and both very active and stable, because they do not go through a significant deactivation process (unlike the catalysts commonly used at present). Consequently this is a novel technology suitable for the international market. The research group is looking for companies interested in acquiring this technology for its commercial development.

Organización Ofertante : Laser Consult Ltd. / Hungr
Tipo de Organización : Pequeña y mediana empresa (PYME)
Estado Actual de Desarrollo : Disponible en el mercado
Sector Industrial : Otros
Etiquetas : Silicone, paint, Fine art, Artist, Studio, Painter, Designer, Decorator
Descripción de la oferta tecnológica
Our partner, a Hungarian SME has developed a new silicone artistic paint, that could revolutionize the fine arts.
Background information: If the silicone artistic paint were invented centuries ago, we would not have to worry now about the shortness of the remaining time while we are able to marvel the works of universal pictorial art in their genuineness and their brilliant colours. It is the dreaded fear of painters and art collectors alike that one day the painting, which has required a lot of work to accomplish, or an enormous of money to buy starts to get dark, crackle, or peel. All these phenomena occur simply because the paints containing adhesives of vegetal origin swelling under the impact of humid air, start shrinking in a dry environment until they completely desiccate, thus oxidation commences, and sooner or later it is time to call the restorer. That is why experts, artists and lovers of the art are equally happy and can't wait to welcome the invention.
